Program Manager - Insurance Platform Rollout

Job description

Program Manager - Insurance Platform Rollout

Interim / Freelance | Hybrid (Amsterdam / Randstad) | 6-month contract (potential to extend)

Our client is rolling out a new set of non-life insurance products to consumers in the Dutch market, delivered on a modern insurance technology platform. This is a high-visibility programme with multiple parties in play - the broker or bank selling the products, the insurers underwriting the risk, third-party claims administrators, and the platform provider itself. Riverflex is leading delivery of the overall programme, and we are looking for a Program Manager to take the lead.

You lead a small delivery team and own the programme end-to-end: getting the platform implemented, the data in place, the testing done, and the products live - on time and across a complex stakeholder landscape. You report directly to C-level stakeholders on both the technology and client side. This is the second phase of the programme, with a further release due around the six-month mark and strong potential to extend.

Responsibilities

  • You lead the end-to-end delivery of the platform rollout, driving all dependencies to launch.

  • You own the change management around implementing the insurance technology platform.

  • You coordinate user acceptance testing - ensuring tests are ready and the right people are available to run them.

  • You own go-live planning, aligning the technology readiness, website launch, and communications on a single launch date.

  • You run status reporting and manage risks and issues, escalating and resolving them early.

  • You manage a broad set of external parties - the broker or bank, the insurers, third-party claims administrators, and the platform provider - keeping them aligned.

  • You report programme progress to senior executives, including C-level stakeholders on both the platform and client side.

Job requirements

  • 8+ years of overall experience, including at least one major insurance programme.

  • A consulting or implementation background, ideally from a Big Four or comparable consultancy.

  • Hands-on experience with non-life insurance (e.g. home, travel, car) - either on the business or technology side.

  • Proven programme and project management delivery experience.

  • Strong stakeholder management, with the seniority to report to and align C-level stakeholders.

  • Dutch language proficiency.

  • EU work authorisation.

The following are a plus:

  • Exposure to insurance technology platform delivery. Deep technical expertise is not required.

  • Experience gained within Dutch banks or insurers with an insurance-product arm.

Why this role

You take the lead on a live, business-critical programme with a clear mandate and immediate impact. You own delivery of a consumer insurance launch from platform readiness through go-live, working directly with senior leaders across the platform provider and the client. With a second release already on the horizon and real potential to extend, this is a role with scope, autonomy, and momentum.
