Job description
The Network and Security Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure. You will implement and maintain security measures, conduct regular security assessments, and respond to security incidents. Additionally, you will support the IT Security Officer in ensuring compliance with security policies and developing security strategies.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain the organization's network infrastructure.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance.
Implement and maintain security measures to protect the organization's network and data.
Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.
Respond to security incidents and breaches and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with the IT Security Officer to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
Schedule and manage activities with critical suppliers and mitigate risks identified during penetration tests.
Job requirements
Education: HBO (Bachelor’s) with approx. 3 years’ work experience, preferably a degree in computer science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
Proficiency in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
Fluent in Dutch and English.
Strong understanding of security principles and best practices.
Relevant certifications in one of the areas CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), CompTIA Network+, Juniper Networks Certification (JNCIA/JNCIS).
Basic knowledge, affinity with security standards, compliance standards, and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, DORA, GDPR).
Network Skills:
Network architecture design and implementation (LAN/WAN/WLAN)
Experience with cloud security and networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Cloud & Virtualization Skills
Firewall implementation and management
VPN setup and maintenance
Network monitoring and performance optimization
IP addressing and subnetting
Router and switch configuration (Cisco, Juniper, etc.)
DNS, DHCP, and network protocols
SD-WAN implementation and management
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on security and reliability.
Experience in network testing, network configuration, coordinating & conducting security tests etc.
Experience in preparing, responding, and participating in external and internal audit checks.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proactive and able to identify opportunities for improving network and security.
