Job description
Business Change Lead
About the role
We are working with a leading retailer located in the Netherlands embarking on an exciting DevSecOps maturity journey within their technology department. While we're defining the technical capabilities at each level, we recognise that true transformation hinges on cultivating a robust cultural foundation. We are seeking a highly experienced and empathetic Business Change Lead to champion this cultural evolution, working closely with the clients embedded Agile Leads.
This pivotal role will be instrumental in fostering a vibrant community of change agents, ensuring the tech teams embrace a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and proactive security. You will be the driving force behind aligning the entire tech team with their DevSecOps vision, removing roadblocks, and empowering their Agile Leads to become catalysts for widespread organisational change.
Key responsibilities
Orchestrating the Community of Change:
Help create and nurture a thriving community of Agile Leads, ensuring they deeply understand their collective role in the DevSecOps transformation.
Foster a strong identity and sense of community among Agile Leads, clarifying their mandate in driving wider organisational change.
Set up and facilitate regular community sessions, ensuring productive discussions, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem-solving.
Strategic Vision and Roadblock Removal:
Provide guidance on the existing vision for the DevSecOps transformation, setting an inspiring tone for the entire technology team.
Actively identify and proactively remove organisational and cultural roadblocks that hinder the adoption of DevSecOps principles.
Reinforce high-trust cultural norms, promoting transparency, psychological safety, and accountability across all teams.
Leadership Coaching & Mentorship:
Mentor and coach team leads to effectively adopt agile principles in their leadership styles.
Ensure top-down support and sustained agility by guiding leaders in championing DevSecOps cultural shifts.
Navigating Organisational Change:
Guide teams and stakeholders through the complexities inherent in adopting new ways of working and cultural paradigms.
Patiently address resistance to change, fostering empathy and understanding throughout the transformation process.
Enable alignment and collaboration across diverse teams, breaking down silos and promoting cross-functional synergy.
Change Management Expertise:
Ensure that changes to systems, applications, or infrastructure are handled in a controlled, secure, and collaborative manner.
Enhance collaboration and accountability for security practices across the entire tech team.
Cultural Maturity Measurement:
Collaborate with the Agile Leads community to define the cultural aspects of each DevSecOps maturity level.
Work to establish a practical, non-fatiguing mechanism for measuring cultural maturity across tech, moving beyond traditional survey methods.
What you bring
8+ years of experience in a dedicated Business Change, Organisational Development, or Agile Transformation role within a complex technology-driven environment.
Proven track record of success in driving large-scale cultural change initiatives, particularly within agile software development teams.
Exceptional facilitation skills with a natural ability to engage, inspire, and guide diverse groups towards common goals.
Understanding of agile methodologies and their application in fostering collaborative and high-performing teams.
Strong coaching and mentoring abilities, with experience influencing leaders at all levels.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships and navigating complex stakeholder landscapes.
Experience in the retail sector or a similar fast-paced, customer-centric industry is a significant plus.
A passion for DevSecOps principles and a belief in the power of culture to drive technical excellence.
